German sports fans can now directly receive sports news from pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland as short messages on their smartphones.
Sky Sport News HD sends news from the world of sports through messenger service WhatsApp to the mobile devices. Interested people just have to register once with their mobile phone number and they require WhatsApp on their smartphone.
The service is free of charge for Sky subscribers and non-subscribers and can be cancelled any time. In the first week, around 20,000 users already signed up for the service which was set up in conjunction with technical partner WhatsBroadcast.
