Turner Broadcasting has appointed Vanessa Brookman in the newly created role of Vice President of Content & Creative, UK and Northern Europe.
The primary focus of the role is to define and execute content strategy for the company’s kids and general entertainment portfolio across the UK, Nordic and Baltic countries.
Brookman will be responsible for channels, digital, creative and presentation teams of around 50 people, setting the creative agenda and ensuring programming is market leading and output is packaged in engaging and compelling ways.
She joins Turner from Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN), where she was VP Programming for MTV and 5* (UK cluster). Prior to joining MTV she was Head of Fiction and Children’s at BBC Vision.
Brookman will report to Turner’s SVP and MD, UK & Northern Europe, Ian McDonough and will be based in the company’s EMEA headquarters in London.
“This follows our recent hire of Dan Fahy as Senior Director of Commercial Development – and demonstrates our commitment to attracting and retaining the best talent,” said McDonough.
“The newly created VP Content and Creative role also exemplifies our commitment to acquiring and developing the best content for our channels and I am confident that Vanessa’s great track record and experience will be a critical asset. Our business is poised for future growth.”
