NGSN is broadcasting for the first time in US history a game of FC Barcelona (vs AS Roma) that can only be seen via the internet.
Next Generation Sports Network (NGSN) is an OTT sports broadcaster that offers football live and on demand in the US.
In the spring of 2015, a free Beta trial was launched with seven international football leagues. In the first six weeks, more than 40,000 fans subscribed to the Beta trial, and NGSN has been broadcasting over 40 soccer matches per weekend.
NGSN currently broadcasts the leagues of Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Japan, Portugal, Russia, The Netherlands and Venezuela as well as the Portuguese Taça da Liga and a Summer Program of friendlies with UEFA qualified teams. NGSN has also acquired the right to broadcast the Korean K. League, the Portuguese Super Cup, the Russian Super Cup and the Colonia Cup 2015. Other new leagues and competitions are expected to be added soon.
Subscribers of the service can not only watch full matches (live and on-demand) but also match recaps, goal highlights, statistics and commentary in at least two languages. Soon the matches can also be seen on media devices such as the Xbox and Roku. More devices will follow.
During the 2015 – 2016 international football season, NGSN expects to broadcast up to 3,000 licensed football matches per season. The majority of the streaming rights will be exclusive to NGSN.
