Hungary’s fixed broadband market remains dominated by three providers, with Magyar Telekom, UPC and Digi together accounting for seven in 10 subscriptions.
Data published by the regulator NMHH shows that as of the end of June the incumbent remained the undisputed market leader, with a share of 35.7%.
It was followed by UPC (21.8%) and Digi (14.4%), with Invitel (9.5%), ViDaNet (2.9%) and Tarr (2.6%) the next largest players.
The number of cable broadband subscriptions stood at 1,053,694, of which 620,1234 were via DOCSIS 3.0, while there were also 783,734 xDSL and 411,880 FTTx broadband subscriptions.
The total number of fixed access broadband subscriptions was, at 2,488,000, close to the 2.5 million mark.
