IBC 2015 (Hall 4, Stand 4.B80). Elemental Technologies says its IBC portfolio will include MPEG-DASH implementation, automatic provisioning of live channels in the cloud, and “second-generation” 4K with high dynamic range (HDR) and workflows.
“The future is now: MPEG-DASH is widely deployed, 4K UHD services are coming online and HDR is making an entrance,” said Keith Wymbs, chief marketing officer for Elemental. “Only the scalability and flexibility of software can keep pace with the relentless advance of video technology. This is illustrated by Comcast X1 Cloud DVR, Sky Go and NOW TV, and other services offered by more than 600 media leaders using the Elemental platform. Software is eating the video industry as it has with other technology industries in the past.”
Other Elemental demonstrations at IBC 2015 include a variety of live and file-based 4K and HEVC streaming applications, virtualised and cloud-based services, and linear video workflows featuring high-quality encoding integrated with advanced system management and the industry’s only 4K HEVC statistical multiplexing solution.
Elemental is also teaming up with Ericsson and the IBC organisation to stage another 4K 4Charity Fun Run. The event, which has so far raised for charities, including OXFAM International and Heifer International takes place at 07:30 on September 12 in Amstel Park in Amsterdam.
