German international broadcaster Deutsche Welle (DW) has launched its German-language TV channel DW Deutsch on Astra 4A (4.8° East) on August 1, 2015.
The new unencrypted satellite feed on 12.380 GHz H (SR 27,500, FEC 3/4) makes the channel available to more than 6 million DTH households in Eastern Europe as well as to cable operators and IPTV providers which receive channels from Astra 4A for distribution to up to 40 million households in Europe.
The move completes the realignment of DW’s worldwide satellite distribution network following the recent launch of its new global English-language news and information channel which is transmitted via Satellite in Europe on the Astra positions 19.2° East and 31.5° East and on Eutelsat Hot Bird at 13° East.
