A competition for a place on Russia’s second DTT multiplex will be held on September 30.
AKTR and Cableman report that the slot on the multiplex has been freed up due to the creation of the new national sports channel Match TV, which will be formed on the basis of Sport Plus and replace Rossiya 2 on the first multiplex.
Applications for the slot will be accepted until September 3, with the eventual winner being required to sign a 10-year contract with RTRS within three months.
They will be required to pay a one-off fee of R36 million (€555,000), along with a participation fee (2%) of R721,900.
Match TV is set to make its debut on November 1 this year.
