July 30, 2015 07.18 Europe/London By Robert Briel

La-ligaMP & Silva has acquired the media rights for the Spanish LaLiga across ten territories, including Japan in Asia.

The acquisition also includes key markets in Europe such as Scandinavia and Finland, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia and Montenegro, Serbia as well as Slovenia.

The new deal with MP & Silva, which previously distributed La Liga rights in Asia, follows recent rights deals signed by Mediapro with Fox Sports in Italy, Sport1 in the Netherlands, and OTE in Greece.

“MP & Silva is very proud of its fruitful and long-lasting partnership with La Liga,” said the agency’s chief executive, Marco Auletta.

Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga commented: “LaLiga is keen to engage with its fan base all over the world, and we are very pleased to once again be partnering with MP & Silva. We have a long established partnership and they are very well positioned to represent the league’s interests and expand our fan base in new territories.”

“Our deep understanding of the property and market dynamics will make sure we maximize the Spanish league’s exposure and awareness worldwide,” said Roberto Dalmiglio, CCO of MP & Silva.

“We are therefore delighted to be expanding and strengthening our relationship with LaLiga in Europe and Asia where we have vast experience and local market expertise through our offices and people.”

MP & Silva’s line-up of football content includes FIFA World Cup 2018 & 2022, UEFA EURO 2016, Italian Serie A TIM, English Premier League, French Ligue 1, the Emirates FA Cup, Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana & Copa do Brazil, Brazilian national league (Brasileirão) and much more.
