The Czech IPTV service O2TV ended the second quarter with almost 190,000 subscribers.
At the same time, as of June 30 the O2TVGo application had already been downloaded 350,000 times.
The Czech incumbent also had 799,000 fixed internet subscribers, or 1.1% more than a year, of which just over half (51%) used VDSL technology.
O2’s consolidated operating revenue in H1 amounted to CZK18.393 billion (€680.21 million), down 0.3% on the same period in 2014. EBITDA amounted to CZK4.825 billion (+32.4%) and the company’s net profit was CZK2.325 billion (+54%).
Commenting on the results, Tomas Budnik, CEO of O2 Czech Republic, said: These are the first presented results following the company’ s separation into the separate companies O2 and CETIN (infrastructure). We have succeeded in stabilising revenues and in increasing our operating profit EBITDA. We are capable of generating free cash flow in excess of our net profit. That serves to confirm our belief that the separation was a step in the right direction and that it will bring future value for our customers and shareholders alike.”
