Mediaset has made its Premium Play service available on Android and iOS smartphones and tablets. Chromecast support is expected in September.
Mediaset Premium Play has landed on the Play Store for Android devices and on the App Store for Apple devices. Previously, the app was only available for tablets from Samsung and the Apple iPad.
In September, Mediaset plans to add Google Chromecast support for both versions of the app.
Premium Play, available to customers of Mediaset Premium, offers a catalogue of over 6,000 titles on demand, many in HD quality. More than 2,000 films, more than 1,500 episodes of TV series can be accessed on the service.
In addition to on-demand streaming the app also offers Download and Play that allows viewers to download content to watch offline.
By the end of July the app Premium Play will also offer 20 TV channels in live streaming available under 3G or 4G network, including live sporting events from Eurosport and Italy’s Serie A football teams as well as games from the UEFA Champions League.
