Magyar Telekom has almost as many fixed broadband subscribers as UPC and Digi combined, while Invitel’s market share is now approaching 10%.
Figures produced by the regulator NMHH show that the Hungarian incumbent ended May with a 35% share of the fixed broadband sector.
It was followed by UPC (21.9%) and Digi (14.4%), with the next best performers being Invitel (9.5%). VidaNet (2.9%), Tarr (2.6%), PR-Telekom (2%), GTS Hungary (0.6%) and Parisat (0.5%).
Over half (47%, or 607,489) of the 1,050,263 broadband cable connections in Hungary as of end of May were via DOCSIS 3.0, while the number of FTTx subscriptions stood at 408,862.
There were also 782,733 xDSL subscriptions, with the total number of fixed access broadband subscriptions amounting to 2,480,000.
