July 3, 2015 10.25 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Classica Ident 1Classica, the international pay-TV channel for classical music lovers, will expand its distribution in Central Europe.

The Germany-based channel will launch in Croatia on the platforms Vipnet and B.net through Telekom Austria on July 6, 2015.

The expansion is based on the multi-territorial partnership with the Austrian telco which commenced with Classica’s launch at Telekom Austria’s subsidiaries Mobiltel in Bulgaria and blizoo in Macedonia in early March 2015. In Austria, the channel has been available on Telekom Austria’s IPTV platform A1 TV since the end of March 2015.

“Telekom Austria Group and Classica follow the same target of growing in Central and Eastern Europe,” Classica’s CEO Johannes Everding said in Munich. “We are happy about this alliance and the channel’s launches in these three important counties which allow classical music lovers to enjoy their passion.”

Classica which can be received on a total of 49 pay-TV platforms in 33 countries will over a live-stream on its website for the first time on July 5, 2015: The opera Roméo et Juliette by Charles Gounod will be transmitted live from the Castleton Festival in the USA from 20.00 CET.
