Telekom consolidates in Macedonia

June 18, 2015 07.12 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Deutsche TelekomT-Mobile Macedonia is to be merged into Makedonski Telekom (Maktel).

According to Magyar Telekom, which holds 51% of Maktel’s shares through Stonebridge AD, itself a 100% subsidiary of Magyar Telekom, the move is an acknowledgement of the increasing importance of fixed-mobile convergence products and offers in the Macedonian telco market.

It adds that the merger will take place on July 1 and that the group level financial impact will be limited.

T-Mobile Macedonia is currently a 100% owned subsidiary of Maktel, the leading provider of pay-TV, fixed broadband and fixed voice services in Macedonia.
