The Moldovan regulator ANRCETI has awarded the country’s first national DTT multiplex licence to the national transmission company Radiocomunicatii.
Valid for a period of five years and with the possibility of renewal, it covers frequencies/channels in the 470-694 MHz UHF band.
The licence conditions require Radiocomunicatii to launch the multiplex by the end of this year, when it will cover 65% of the country and 80% of the population.
By the end of 2016, these totals will be increased to 70% and 95% respectively, and 75% and 99% by the end of 2017.
Radiocomunicatii is also set to be shortly awarded a licence to operate Moldova’s second DTT multiplex
