CanalSat is dropping channels from the AB Groupe at the end of the month to concentrate on what it’s described as “more popular” broadcasters.
The move affects two movie channels, Cine FX and Cine Polar, and the documentary channels Trek, Science et Vie TV and Toute L’Histoire.
At an earlier stage, the Canal+ Group also said it is ceasing broadcasts of its Sport+ channel at the end of June.
Meanwhile, last March the Groupe AB asked permission to the regular CSA to expand the number of its premium movie channels from two (Cine FX and Cine Polar) to five, adding Ciné Comédie, Ciné Passion and Ciné Famille.
