Czech prefer home to mobile viewing

June 12, 2015 11.01 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Girl with tablet (PwC)Video consumption in the Czech Republic on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets may not be as high as previously thought.

Quoting data produced by Nielsen Admosphere (the former Mediaresearch) and presented at a workshop organised by the Association of Television Organisation (ATO), Digizone says that 95% of video consumption, which includes classical TV, over the internet and rented movies (DVDs and USB media), still takes place at home, with TV (90%) accounting for the lion’s share of the total.

Furthermore, linear TV accounts for 87% of all daily video viewings.

However, it should be noted that the representative sample was aged 15-74 and the study undertaken in there weeks in April when there were no major sporting events.

The results would have probably been significantly different with a younger demographic and had the research been done in May, when the World Ice Hockey Championships were played.
