Belgian cablenet VOO is relaunching its digital television service through the Cisco Snowflake platform.
.évasion will run the distinctive looking user interface as part of Cisco’s VideoScape solution. The deployment features a slick and intuitive user interface (UI), and mosaic video wall that will allow users to navigate easily throughout the channel lineup, with personalized suggestions enabled via the recommendation engine.
Additional features include “Restart” function, currently being deployed by a number of European platforms, and a seven day backwards EPG.
“VOO is focused on delivering an unprecedented television experience to our customers that offers unique content choices for the whole family. Our new video wall is a marquee feature that is sure to become an instant fan favorite. Cisco shares our vision and focus for the TV experience that customers want and need today, which bridges easily into future services,” said Tamara Leemans, CTO, VOO.
Combining two sides of its business, Cisco will supply VOO with the new .évasion decoder box, which has a removable hard drive and offers the ability to record up to three channels simultaneously while watching a fourth.
There is also support for third party apps.
