The Slovenian National Holding Company (SDH) had until this Wednesday (June 10) to make a final decision on whether or not a majority stake of 75% in Telekom Slovenije will be sold to Cinven.
Local reports say that was when the validity of the UK investment fund’s offer for the telco expired. Last Sunday (June 7) the Slovenian government failed at an extraordinary meeting to reach a final decision on the sale, effectively passing it back to the SDH.
The SDH had previously given its approval, though the ultimate decision rested with the government.
The sale of Telekom Slovenije is highly controversial and the government has been accused in some quarters of failing to act properly.
Some reports say that Cinven has actually lowered its offer and that the SDH may again pass the matter over to the government.
