ANGA COM, Europe’s biggest event for cable and broadband, opens with the traditional ‘elephants round’.
As an added bonus, this year’s opening event will feature Dr. Manuel Cubero (Vodafone/Kabel Deutschland) and Mike Fries (Liberty Global), the first time the two heavy weights in the telecoms space will meet in public following the confirmation of the discussions regarding an asset deal between Vodafone and Liberty Global.
Also participating in the opening discussion will be Wolfgang Elsäßer (Astra Deutschland), and Lutz Schüler (Unitymedia) on behalf of the network operators.
The media companies will be represented by Conrad Albert (ProSiebenSat.1), Dr. Thomas Bellut (ZDF), Kasia Kieli (Discovery Networks), and Marc Schröder (RTL Deutschland Media Group).
The congress will start with a joint opening of ANGA COM and Medienforum NRW with Hannelore Kraft, Prime Minister of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia and Thomas Braun, President of the Association of German Cable Operators.
The International Broadband Summit is the highlight of the international programme section which is made up of 10 panels in English altogether. Speakers will be Michel Azibert (Eutelsat), Colin Buechner (Liberty Global), Wilhelm Dresselhaus (Alcatel-Lucent Deutschland), Bruce McClelland (Arris Group), Yves Padrines (Cisco), and Dr. Dirk Wössner (Rogers Communications, Canada).
