Canal+ is upgrading its distinctive cube-shaped receiver that connects to the internet via Wi-Fi.
The new version of Le Cube, called Le Cube S, picks up on the recent trend to put Wi-Fi receivers in the receiver, rather than use a dongle-style attachment.
It combines reception of the terrestrial (TNT) channels in HD quality with signals pulled in from the internet. The new set-top offers access to the whole range of Canal+ and Cansat channels, both those broadcast on DTT as well as additional one, delivered OTT via the internet.
In addition to a refined programme guide, the new Cube also adds ‘Startover’, the ability to watch any show from the beginning.
It’s expected to receive an official launch on Tuesday.
