Canal+ is to screen this weekend’s Champions League final in the Ultra High Definition format, the broadcaster has confirmed.
The match, taking place in Berlin on Saturday at 21:00 CET, will be delivered from Astra at 19.2 degrees East in partnership with SES and OTT.
Canal said the transmission was as part of a series of experimental broadcasts that had been conducted over the past year, across the entire technical chain. It was run in collaboration with both French and international industry players.
Earlier this week it was confirmed that Sky Deutschland would also be taking the feed for public screenings at various points around Germany.
