Bo Thörnwall new director of programmes at C More

June 4, 2015 10.17 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Bo ThornwallBo Thörnwall is the new director of programmes at C More, with responsibility for films and series.

He was previously in programme acquisitions for C More as well as its sister company TV4.

”C More is a quality label for premium film, series and children’s programming, especially focusing on local content. Furthering this development in a digital environment just may be the most rewarding job in Sweden”, said Bo.

With CEO Manfred Aronsson at the helm, C More is on a journey from linear broadcasting company to digital first company. Its main offer will be the new SVOD service of Bonnier Broadcasting, also named C More, and excellent premium content is a very important success factor. As new director of programmes, Bo Thörnwall is responsible for all non-sports C More content.

“I have known Bo since we worked together at Kanal 5 during the nineties, and am delighted to be able to welcome this veteran of film and series to our management group. C More is aiming at a prominent position in the SVOD market with the best film and series content and strong local focus. To achieve this we need Bo’s expertise,” said Manfred Aronsson, CEO of C More.

“Our offer of films, series and children’s programming will be even better than today! Not only does C More have new films and series from the big Hollywood studios; no commercial competitor can offer more Swedish films or Swedish drama productions. We have everything from the latest cinema hits to popular films that the whole family enjoys,” added Bo Thörnwall.

In the nineties, Bo Thörnwall was in acquisition and program planning at Kanal 5. He moved on to the TV4 Group, where he in 2006 was appointed Director of Programs at TV4 Film. During the latest few years, Thörnwall has been a part of TV4 Group’s acquisition team, and also responsible for the main part of C Mores non-sport program acquisition.
