Expansionist telecoms group Altice has confirmed its completed the €7.4 billion acquisition of Portugal Telecom from Brazilian owner Oi.
It follows earlier purchases by the Patrick Drahi investment vehicle of the US cablenet Suddenlink and the French mobile unit SFR for €8.2 billion and €17 billion respectively.
European regulators cleared the deal in return for the sale of Altice’s other interests in the Portuguese market.
