Pay-TV broadcaster Sky will take its arts and culture channel Sky Arts to Germany and Austria, a Sky Deutschland spokeswoman confirmed to Broadband TV News.
The move is part of the major European arts content initiative announced by Sky earlier today.
Sky Arts is already available in the UK and Ireland; an Italian version launched at the end of 2012. Like its sister channels, the German service will focus on areas such as arts, culture, theatre and music.
The spokeswomen declined to disclose further information, for example regarding distribution, content or launch date.
Sky Deutschland wants to reveal more details on the German Sky Arts version at a press event in early July 2015.
