Although the Telekom Slovenije privatisation process is in its final stages, it is by no means a forgone conclusion.
Dnevnik reports that despite recent media reports, the only thing that appears to have happened in the last two weeks is that Cinven has changed its offer for the telco.
Having initially bid €112 a share back in April, it is believed to have increased the figure to €130.
Cinven is the only bidder for the 75% stake, which is being sold by the Slovenian National Holding Company (SDH).
The privatisation process has been ongoing for a year and the decision to sell to Cinven will ultimately rest with the government and could come as soon as the end this month.
As reported earlier this week in Broadband TV News, Slovenia’s finance minister has played down reports that Cinven is working in concert with Deutsche Telekom to reduce the price for Telekom Slovenije.
