The Hungarian regulator NMHH has fined Telenor HUF250 million (€812,527) for unilaterally amending individual subscriber contracts.
In a statement, it says that it carried out an investigation into Telenor’s actions, which came into effect on July 25, 2015, in order to determine of they complied with the provisions of the rules in electronic communications.
It concluded that the company had acted unlawfully and therefore initiated proceedings on May 15 this year that ending in the “damning decision”.
The NMHH points out that Telenor has already been fined several times for illegal, unilateral contract modifications.
In this instance its decision is not final and the company can lodge an appeal.
