Primacom, Germany’s fourth-largest cable operator, has appointed Heiko Wuest as VP Business Products with immediate effect.
In this newly created role, Wuest will head a new division specifically targeting customers in small and medium-sized businesses, offices, stores and practices (the SME market).
Wuest’s appointment marks Primacom’s entry into the SME market for the first time in the company’s history. Sales from this new business segment are expected to become a significant proportion of the group total over time. The new business products division is distinct from Primacom’s existing housing association business which continues to be run by Jean-Pascal Roux, VP Housing Industry.
Wuest (49) brings many years of industry experience and extensive business contacts to his new role at Primacom. Since 1998, Wuest has held various sales management roles at telecommunications companies, including a 12 year stint as Head of Department at Versatel.
“The launch of an offer to small and medium-sized businesses customers is the next logical step in our growth strategy as we seek to leverage the full potential of our high-performance broadband network,” said Joachim Grendel, CEO of Primacom. “Our entry into this substantial and demanding market demonstrates our confidence in the capabilities of our networks and services and we expect strong sales growth in this area over the coming years.”
