ProSieben Maxx, the German free-to-air TV channel targeting a male audience between 14 and 39 years of age, will remove the window under the Yep! brand from its schedule from July 1, 2015.
The animated Japanese series Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Naruto Shippuden and One Piece which have been part of the Yep! window will in future be shown by ProSieben Maxx under its own new brand Anime Action. The Marvel series Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. and Avengers Assemble will move to a Saturday slot.
Yep! was originally planned as a stand-alone free-to-air children’s channel, but then only became a programme window on ProSieben Maxx.
Yep! which stands for Young Entertainment Programme is owned by German media company Mainstream Media AG which also operates GoldStar TV, Heimatkanal and Romance TV and m4e AG, a brand management and media group specialising in children’s and family entertainment.
“We currently evaluate with our shareholders whether it would make sense to continue airing Yep! at a different place,” a Yep! spokeswoman told Broadband TV News.
