The Hungarian incumbent Magyar Telekom ended the first quarter with 934,491 subscribers to its TV services in its home market, or 4.1% more than a year earlier.
While those receiving IPTV services grew 12% year-on-year to 455,095, the satellite and cable totals both fell, by 0.7% to 305,933 and 5.3% to 173,463 respectively.
Blended APRU for TV services in Q1 amounted to HUF3,224 (€10.5), up 5.1% of the total a year earlier.
While IPTV and satellite TV revenues increased year-on-year in Q1, this was partly offset by lower cable revenues, due largely to the migration from cable to IPTV. Meanwhile, satellite TV revenues increased mainly to higher subscription fees than in Q1 2014.
The Magyar Telekom group had total revenues of HUF156,957 million in Q1, up 3.3% year-on-year, while EBITDA was up by 4.8% to HUF42,466 million.
However, the net debt over the same period increased by 16.7% to HUF446,186 million.
