May 13, 2015 06.40 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

filmboxTotal TV will shortly launch the FilmBox Universe package on its platforms in Serbia, Croatia, Macedonia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Slovenia.

The move follows a recent major distribution deal signed by SPI and Total TV.

FilmBox Universe consists of eight channels, three of which offer movies (FilmBox HD, FilmBox Plus SD and FilmBox Arthouse SD), one documentaries (DocuBox HD), one extreme sports (Fast&FunBox HD), one martial arts (FightBox HD) and two adult content (Eros HH and Eroxxx HD).

Every new customer who opts for the package region will also be offered free access to the multiscreen app FilmBox Live.

Commenting on the development, Berk Uziyel, executive director of Filmbox International, said: “We are very glad to see our channels being offered in the Balkans by Total TV.

“They are the largest alternative pay-TV platforms in the region of former Yugoslavia and we are very excited to deliver our channels to their customers.

“It is our pleasure to announce that we have localised FilmBox HD, FilmBox Plus HD and DocuBox channels to deliver them to the local audiences in Serbian, Croatian, Macedonian, Albanian and Slovenian”.

Srdjan Radic, director of satellite and OTT platforms, Total TV, said: “We want to provide the users of Total TV an even better viewing experience of digital television. In addition to transferring to the new set top box generation that we are conducting throughout 2015, we will continue to increase the number of available channels. The biggest satellite platform on the territory of former Yugoslavia, Total TV now has a new package – FilmBox Universe. It offers users eight new channels of different content, from movies to documentaries and entertainment. This package will be available for free to all our users during the first two months of the promotional period.”
