Austrian telco A1 Telekom Austria has commenced offering BBC World News in HD quality on its IPTV platform A1 TV.
The international news channel is available on channel slot 357 to all 250,000 A1 TV customers. The platform now carries a total of 70 HD channels.
BBC World News HD will be distributed by A1 Telekom Austria exclusively in Austria for three months. After this period, other cable and IPTV providers can offer the channel.
BBC World News HD launched in early April 2015 via satellite on Astra (19.2° East) where the channel can be received unencrypted across Europe.
