Forthnet secures football rights

May 4, 2015 20.43 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

ForthnetGreece’s Forthnet has extended the broadcasting rights agreement it has with the Super League for a further four years.

As a result, its Novasport channels will continue to offer the Greek football championship live to its subscribers until 2019.

Commenting on the development, Panos Papadopoulos, CEO of Forthnet, said: “With the extension of our cooperation with Super League, we obtained until 2019, the most popular sports content for our hundreds of thousands of subscribers. In a difficult time for the Greek society, as well as for the Greek sports, we remain focused on our strategic choices and continue to invest in Greece!”

George Borovilos, president of Super League, added: “We are very pleased to announce the signage of the extension of the Broadcasting Agreement. In an adverse economic environment, the extension of the agreement between Super League and Forthnet, secures the future of the team-members of Super League for the coming years, allowing them to plan ahead. I would like to thank Forthnet’s CEO, Mr. Panos Papadopoulos and the company’s management for their excellent cooperation and for supporting Greek football.”
