TV Connect debut for ABOX42 M-series enhancement

April 28, 2015 07.17 Europe/London By Julian Clover

ABOX42-STBsABOX42 is premiering its latest generation M40 Smart STB platform for IPTV, OTT & Hybrid.

This latest technology addition to the M-series product range supports HEVC / H.265 for more efficient streaming of video content. Furthermore M40 is based on the latest Chipset technology from Broadcom, which is supporting up to 4K / UHD (Ultra HD) video resolution.

ABOX42 will also be showing off the newest version of OPX TV, the compelling TV application and backend solution, now available for IPTV, OTT and Hybrid DVB projects.

OPX TV offers a variety of new features and functionalities, such as full HbbTV support, IP based or DVB based EPG and capability to run both IPTV, OTT and traditional DVB channels in a unified channel list.

In Content Security, ABOX42 has recently added “Expressplay”, the DRM solution from Intertrust / Marlin to its portfolio of DRM and software-based Conditional Access (CAS) systems, which enables operators to run different security systems for different applications or services side by side on the ABOX42 platform.

“We are pleased to offer with our new M40 Set Top Box line for IPTV, OTT and Hybrid DVB an outstanding product line giving our customers the market requested and outstanding flexibility,” said Matthias Greve, CEO of ABOX42 GmbH. “Our comprehensive SDK, the broad experience with advanced operator projects and the ability to provide a total Set Top Box solution, is a unique proposition in this market.
