Mobile provided an additional focus for Belgian operator Telenet in financials released Tuesday.
While higher revenues from cable products increased revenues by 6% year-on-year to €443.4 million, the Liberty Global company also highlighted its 900,000 postpaid mobile customers. 30,200 new mobile subs were added in the first quarter following new handset subsidies.
It follows the €1.325 billion acquisition of BASE that the company says will provide stable long-term mobile access and secure its future as a leading integrated telecommunications provider.
Triple play subs were up by 9% and now represent 49% of the customer base.
Telenet’s adjusted EBITDA was €235 million.
