The Prague Municipal Court has ruled against the streaming service TV4You in a dispute with TV Nova, the Czech Republic’s leading broadcaster.
According to information obtained by Digizone, TV4You’s actions were deemed to be illegal as they were conducted without the consent of programme providers.
TV4You, which has effectively been blocked following a court order at the end of last year, offered viewers the opportunity to watch TV Nova, along with Prima TV and the public broadcaster Ceske Televize, for free on their mobile devices.
TV Nova views the actions of such companies as TV4You to be illegal, both to themselves and programme licence holders.
