TeliaSonera gains TV customers

TeliaSoneraTeliaSonera’s TV business performed steadily in the first quarter, both in the Nordics and Baltic Republics.

Results published by the company showed that it ended March with 701,000 TV customers in Sweden, a 7.8% increase on the total a year earlier.

However, it only gained 4,000 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, in the other markets in Europe the company is present in, it ended Q1 with a total of 871,000 TV customers, a 9.3% increase on a year earlier. The gain in Q1 alone amounted to 17,000.

In Finland, it had 493,000 TV customers at the end of Q1, up by 11.8% year-on-year, with the gain the quarter amounting to 12,000.

In Denmark, the corresponding figures were 20,000, +7.5% year-on-year and zero growth in Q1.

In the Baltics, TeliaSonera had 192,000 TV subscribers at the end of Q1, up 11% year-on-year. Its gain in Q1 amounted to 5,000.

The corresponding figures in Estonia were 166,000, +1.2% year-on-year and zero growth in Q1.

TeliaSonera did not supply TV figures for Latvia, where it operates Lattelecom, in its results highlights.

The TeliaSonera group had net sales of SEK26,041 million (€2,792 million) in the first quarter, compared to SEK23,926 million in the same period last year.

Its EBITDA amounted to SEK8,540 million (SEK8,345 million) and net income (after financial items) SEK4,725 million (SEK5,416 million).
