April 20, 2015 23.22 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Djazz.tv Herbie HancockThe Netherlands-based channels Djazz.tv and Brava have secured distribution on Mobitel’s DTH platform in Bulgaria and the Macedonian cable operator blizoo, both of which are subsidiaries of the Telekom Austria Group.

Commenting on the development, Rob Overman, chief creative officer of the Brava Group, said: “The new collaboration with the Telekom Austria Group is a significant step forward for our music channels.

“Thanks to our newly added satellite position, Brava and Djazz.tv are now available to many additional European operators. It allows Brava to gain access to the countries that form the birth ground of the classical music culture. And for Djazz.tv it is a fantastic opportunity to establish links to the vibrant European jazz-scene. A wide array of venues, festivals and artists will now gain access to a whole new audience through our TV channel”.

Stefan Amon, director wholesale Telekom Austria Group, added: “With the partnership of Djazz.tv and Brava we continue our strategy in offering our technical broadcast services to a broader audience. Telekom Austria Group´s wholesale media and broadcast department acts as a global partner when it comes to satellite services. With the knowledge and extensive experience to provide inexpensive and reliable worldwide communications via satellite we are regarded as one of Europe’s leading satellite service providers”.

Brava and Djazz.tv can now be viewed in 50 countries worldwide.

In CEE, these include Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Croatia and Poland.
