Digiweb selects Cloudio TV to power OTT service

April 20, 2015 21.36 Europe/London By Robert Briel

digiweb-teamDigiweb, the Irish fixed and mobile broadband provider, has selected Cloudio TV to power its new cross-device TV service.

Cloudio TV will be available on Android, iPhone, iPad, set-top boxes and connected TVs. The service is available to consumers as a subscriptions service and offers both linear and VOD content.

Consumers are increasingly using internet to watch television and our customer base is no different,” said Shane O’Reilly, product development manager of Digiweb.

“We are very pleased to team up with Cloudio TV on their OTT TV service and premium international content offerings. This allows Digiweb to offer triple play TV, fibre speed broadband and voice to a growing number of new communities across Ireland. We were able to build this service with Cloudio TV in a very short timeframe, and Cloudio TV’s team demonstrated great technical expertise through the quality and speed they developed and launched the service.”

“We are delighted to play a part in enabling forward-thinking customers, such as Digiweb, expand their customer reach with added value services and ultimately improve their bottom line,” said David Vargas-Racero, CEO of Cloudio TV.

“Digiweb is the perfect example of a leading telecom company setting the standard in its local market and bundle digital services specific for Ireland.”
