The sale of any of CME’s key activities is not on the agenda, according to Christoph Mainusch, its co-CEO and executive director of Nova Group.
Speaking in a wide-ranging interview with MF Dnes, he was dismissing last year’s speculation about the company, which has broadcast interests in six CEE markets.
However, Mainusch also said that the sale of CME’s activities not related to TV broadcasting is still ongoing.
Having sold Bontonfilm in the Czech Republic last year, it is currently in the process of sellingseveral non-core activities in Romania.
Mainusch said that the company, while still focused on safeguarding growth in advertising revenues and market share, is looking at revenues not linked to advertising, such as carriage fees from cable and satellite providers.
It also wants to increase income from paid and digital services in the future and to offer content through all available platforms.
He revealed that the VOD service Voyo now has around 28,000 subscribers in the Czech Republic.
Mainusch also said that CME may launch more channels in the future, though it is too early for any announcement as no decisions have been made.
“First we will continue to invest primarily in high quality content within the group of our existing channels”.
