New Ziggo, the combined cable operations of UPC and Ziggo in the Netherlands, is launching the Replay TV function as part of its upgraded Horizon TV offer.
With Replay TV viewers can go back to the beginning of a programme when they tune in while the broadcast is already in progress. KPN already offers a similar service on its IPTV network, called Begin Gemist.
Ziggo’s Replay TV is available on over sixty channels, of which 32 are in HD quality. The service is available to all Horizon TV customers.
Today, Monday April 13, also marks the day that Liberty Global’s Dutch cable operations have come under the common Ziggo brand.
In a related development, Ziggo has made all catch-up TV programming from RTL and SBS available free of charge. Until now, a fee of between €0.99 and €2.99 was due per requested programme. Programmes are available up to ten days after the initial broadcast,
