Slovenia’s leading cable operator Telemach has completed the acquisition of Tusmobil five months after the deal was first announced.
According to Balkans News, quoting its director Marko Ster, Telemach will now invest heavily in the next five years on the rollout of 4th generation LTE services and construction of new base stations.
The deal will result in the three largest operators in Slovenia each accounting for around a third of the mobile market. It will also see Telemach, hitherto a virtual player, establish a foothold in the mobile market.
Ster revealed that Telemach is looking at other take-over targets. These may include Tele-2, the leading player in the FTTH sector, which could soon be sold by its owner Bank Asset Management Company (BAMC).
Telemach is understood to have paid Tus Holding n the region of €150 million for Tusmobil, which was established in 2006 and has hitherto been the country’s third largest mobile operator.
