National Geographic Channels International (NGCI) has appointed production executive Simon Young to its Global Content Hub.
Based in London, Simon will work across a slate of series and single films which will air on National Geographic Channel in over 170 countries and in 45 languages. In his new role as Commissioning Executive Producer, he will report to EVP and head of international content for NGCI, Hamish Mykura.
Mykura said, “Having previously worked with Simon on specialty programming and seen his star rise, especially with his recent coup in unearthing royal remains, we are very excited to be welcoming him to NGCI’s global content hub. Here, he will be in a position to actively develop programmes that leave a lasting cultural legacy across the globe.”
During his 15-year career, Young has worked as a producer, writer and director for companies such as Darlow Smithson Productions, Pioneer, Brook Lapping and Atlantic Productions
