The Czech broadcaster TV Barrandov will shortly add a music channel named Barrandov Muzika to its portfolio.
According to Digizone, it is already preparing to launch a movie channel named Kino Barrandov, to be distributed on the country’s third DTT multiplex, on April 18, along with another new channel named Barrandov Plus.
All will make their debuts this year.
Barrandov TV is owned by Empresa Media, backed by the entrepreneur Jaromir Soukoup.
The owner has previously tried to enter the music TV market by securing a stake in Senzi, a channel operated by the Slovak broadcaster Joj.
Having failed to make any headway with this, it now plans to launch its own music channel.
