Wuaki.tv, the European video-on-demand (VOD) provider backed by Japanese e-commerce company Rakuten, has appointed Sébastien Janin as its head of international business development.
Janin comes from Apple iTunes where he has been responsible for the launch of iTunes’ movie services in Europe and Latin America. Earlier, he was vice president home entertainment at Studiocanal.
With Janin, Wuaki.tv wants to press ahead with its ambitious expansion course. By the end of 2015, the company wants to offer local VOD portals in more than 10 European countries.
Following Spain, France, the UK and Germany, Wuaki.tv launched in Italy in February 2015. Ireland and Austria are to follow in Q2 2015.
