The Spanish regulator CNMC is set to open new disciplinary proceedings and impose new sanctions on Mediaset.
In a statement, it says that it has confirmed the “broken promises” related to the merger of Telecinco and Cuatro, which it approved in October 2010.
In February 2013, the CNMC imposed a fine of €15.6 million on Mediaset for breaches of commitments related to the merger.
The “broken promises” refer specifically to discounts for advertising on the two channels.
