The Russian Express-AM7 satellite has been successfully launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome and is now in orbit.
From its 40 degrees East target geostationary orbit, the satellite will provide state-of-the-art communications and broadcasting services to users in Russia, Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa and Southern Asia.
Express-AM7 was built at RSCC’s orders under the Russian Federal Space program for 2006-2015, with financing provided by off-budget funds based on a credit line from the State Corporation Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank).
Its design lifetime is 15 years.
