Dutch incumbent KPN said that its Restart-TV service Begin Gemist has been used a record number of 2.5 million times during January 2015.
The Restart-Tv service allows KPN’s IPTV customers to start watching a programme from the beginning when they tune in to the programme after it already started. According to KPN, 60% of iys 1.5 million TV customers has used the service at least once, and 25% is using it on a regular basis.
Broadcasts on the three public het6wprls NPO 1, 2 and 3 are the most popular, including the NOS news, the game show Wie is the Mol? and Boer zoekt Vrouw (Farmers seeks wife).
“Begin Genist is a hit for many KPN customers. We see that once customers once begin using the service, they are doing this more often, on average ten times a month,” according to Marcella Blom, RSD Marketing Retention & Loyalty at KPN.
