Gay lifestyle channel OUTtv will expand to Germany with the first carriage partner having been signed up.
Cable operator NetCologne will add OUTtv to its digital lineup on March 17, 2015. The pay-TV channel will be distributed unencrypted until March 31 to make viewers familiar with the service.
On April 1, OUTtv will become part of pay-TV packages Family HD and Unterhaltung Extra. The channel will be available to all subscribers automatically.
OUTtv launched in Canada in 2001 and expanded to Europe in 2008 where the channel is currently available in the Netherlands, Belgium and Sweden.
Originally, OUTtv was set up as a gay channel, but has developed into an entertainment channel for all open-minded viewers.
The schedule comprises dramas and reality series such as Queer As Folk, Shameless and RuPaul’s Drag Race as well as movies and documentaries.
OUTtv will be offered by NetCologne in English language with Dutch subtitles.
