Spain ended 2014 with 12,941,000 fixed broadband lines, or 5.9% more than a year, according to data produced by the regulator CNMC.
Growth in FTTH was particularly strong, the 1,563,036 total being 154.1% higher than a year earlier.
In December, the number of broadband lines increased by 50,642.
While the FTTH total grew by 110,485, DSL lines fell by 77,331 and cable increased by 17,488.
In 2014, cable operators gained 117,210 new broadband subscribers and Telefónica 35,540.
Other providers accounted for the remaining 568,970 additions.
