Germany’s third-largest cable operator Tele Columbus recorded a total of 52,000 new internet and telephony subscriptions in 2014.
From its total customer base of 1.3 million, 202,000 have now opted for internet and 170,000 for telephony – an increase by 16% each compared with 2013. The number of premium TV customers dropped, however, by 2.1% from 164,000 to 161,000.
Tele Columbus increased its turnover in 2014 by 3.3% to €213 million while the EBITDA rose by 12.3% to €98.9 million.
The company which floated on the stock market on January 23, 2015 also wants to grow through acquisitions. On February 5, 2015 Düsseldorf-based cable operator WoWiSat was taken over, increasing its customer base by 5,400 households. Financial details have not been disclosed
